1st ACT SILICON VALLEY • ARTS / CREATIVITY / TECHNOLOGY (2007)
Working with public officials and CEOs, as well as the 1stACT Leadership Team, Collaborative Economics developed a business plan for 1stACT’s proposal submission to the John L. and James S. Knight Foundation. Resulted in a $3.5 million grant from the foundation.MAKING THE CREATIVE CONNECTION: Arts, Ideas and Economic Progress in Greater Phoenix (2006)
Arts, ideas and economic progress are strongly connected. They are part of a “creative cycle” where people create art and ideas that contribute to an attractive quality of life but also to a prosperous economy. This report provided the first ever baseline measure of Greater Phoenix’s creativity-based economy, finding more than 100,000 people working in at least 150 creative occupations.UCSC MANAGEMENT SCHOOL STUDY (2006)
The UCSC Management School Study describes how to implement a new management school based on regional needs, university strengths and industry interest. Working directly with senior business executives in Silicon Valley, University leaders, and key leaders from other regions, Collaborative Economics gathered information, tested concepts in a focus group environment, and identified potential “champions” from the business community for the implementation of a new management school at the University of California-Santa Cruz.PROJECT NEXT: A Regional Economic Evolution(2004)
Project Next focuses on emerging issues related to human capital and diversity in the Oklahoma City region. This initial research assisted in the development of a strategy to help attract, retain and grow the region’s stock of educated and talented who are a vital component of the region’s overall economic development strategy.
